As previously announced, Shell plans to shut down its Mars tension leg platform (TLP) late in the first quarter of 2005 to replace the flexjoints on both its oil and natural gas export lines.
According to the operator, subsea construction contractor Cal Dive mobilised its multi-service vessel Intrepid on 7 June to inspect the pipeline flex joints on Auger, Brutus and Ursa, as a precaution.
