Landscape Artist of the Year Canada brings together the country's top professional and amateur artists in a battle of the brushes to see who can best capture the country's most iconic landscapes.

Local artist Karen Lynn Ingalls will hold a one-day class on how to paint abstract landscapes. The class will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Calistoga Art Center, 1435 N. Oak St.
